Privacy notice

What you tell me stays with me.

People tell me things in that room they have not told their families. Some of it is medical and some of it is not, and none of it goes anywhere. This page explains, in plain terms, what I hold, why I hold it, and how to have it changed or removed.

The short version

In plain terms.

What I collect

Your name and contact details, your health history through the intake form, and what you tell me during a session. Payment details are handled by the payment processor and I never see or store your full card number.

Why I need the health history

Because some conditions and medications change how, or whether, I can safely work on you. It is not curiosity. It is the difference between safe treatment and unsafe treatment.

Who sees it

Me. I do not sell, rent, trade or share your information, and I have never done so. I do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask to join.

How long I keep it

As long as is reasonable for continuity of care, because knowing what we did two years ago is genuinely useful if you come back, and as long as tax and legal obligations require. Ask me to delete it and I will.

Testimonials

Reviews you choose to leave publicly are already public. I will never publish anything about your care, or use your name or your story, without asking you first.

Children

This practice and this website are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

The full notice

In more detail.

Last updated 12 August 2026.

1. What information I collect

Information you give me. Names, phone numbers, email addresses, mailing and billing addresses, and the contents of the intake form.

Sensitive information. With your consent, and where permitted by law, I process health data. This is necessary in order to treat you safely, and it is the reason the intake form asks about surgeries, medications, conditions and injuries.

Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Card details are handled and stored by them under their own terms, not by me.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site may collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information and pages viewed, used for security and for understanding how people find the site. This is aggregate traffic information and is not connected to your health record.

2. How I use it

To provide and administer treatment safely; to contact you about your appointments; to respond to your questions; to take payment; to meet legal, tax and insurance obligations; and, only if you have asked for it, to send occasional information about the practice. You can opt out of the last one at any time by replying to any message or telling me.

3. Who I share it with

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I have not disclosed or sold personal information to third parties for commercial purposes.

I do use third-party services to run the practice, and your information passes through them under their own privacy terms. These currently include Acuity Scheduling for appointments, JotForm for intake, and payment processors for taking payment. If a service is ever changed I will update this page.

I may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of myself or others.

4. Cookies and tracking

This site may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics. Most browsers accept cookies by default and can be set to reject them, though some features may then not work properly. There is no interest-based advertising on this site.

5. How long I keep information

Client records are kept as long as is reasonable for continuity of care and for as long as legal, tax or insurance obligations require. When there is no longer a legitimate reason to keep your information, it is deleted or anonymised. If you would prefer I did not keep something you told me, tell me and I will remove it.

6. How I keep it safe

I use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure, and I cannot promise that unauthorised third parties will never defeat those measures.

7. Your rights

You may ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, object to how it is processed, or withdraw consent you previously gave. Text or email and I will handle it personally.

California residents. California law gives you the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, the purposes for which they are used, and whether they are sold or disclosed. Ida Bella does not sell personal information and will not do so. You have the right to request access to and deletion of your information, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To verify a request I may need to confirm your identity by matching details you have previously given me.

8. Do Not Track

There is currently no uniform standard for recognising Do Not Track browser signals, and this site does not respond to them. If a standard is adopted, this notice will be updated.

9. Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated from time to time. The updated version takes effect when it is posted, and the date at the top will change. Please check it occasionally.
